 There are 26 bones, 30 joints, and more than 100 muscles, tendons and ligaments. They all have to work in harmony to allow for balance, support, and locomotion. The foot and ankle is designed to handle hundreds of tons of force every day. The average adult takes about 5000 steps a day. When one starts to consider the amount of stress and weight we place on our feet everyday, it’s easy to see how most people will experience foot injuries during their lifetime.
